About Us
Five thousand years of memory.
A world of journeys.
ZAAN begins in Kashmir — not with tourism, but with belonging.
A Civilizational Relationship
Founded and led by sons & daughters of the soil, we inherit a civilizational relationship with Kashmir stretching back millennia: a tradition that preserved and interpreted its sacred geography—its mountains and rivers, temples and springs, gardens, philosophies, arts and stories. For us, these were never simply places on a map. They were part of a living landscape.
Displacement, Not Disconnection
History dispersed our community beyond Kashmir, but it also carried this deep culture of learning, interpretation and curiosity across India and the world. Displacement widened our geography without diminishing our roots.
Reading a Landscape
Kashmir taught us to read a landscape differently: to ask why a temple stands where it does, why a river became sacred, how a mountain entered mythology, what a craft remembers, and how civilizations leave their imprint on place. And, in doing so, to discover the wonder and the magic hidden within it. That is the sensibility ZAAN brings to every journey.
Beyond Sightseeing
Across Kashmir and India, we weave together history, architecture, spirituality, food, folklore, nature and personal stories to create experiences that go far beyond sightseeing. We seek out the people, places and traditions that allow a destination to be understood from within. Our journeys are researched and carefully curated. But their authenticity comes from something deeper: we understand what it means to belong to a place.
For us, Kashmir is not a destination.
It is home.
And Kashmir taught us how to travel.
